H-Bau RAPIDOBAT® formwork tube installation at Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders House, Berlin

The final construction phase of what’s known as the “Band des Bundes” is completed in Berlin’s government district. The finishing touches on the “Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders” House constitute the culmination of the building complex known as the “Spreebogen”.

Within the project, H-BAU provided 20-meter tall RAPDIOBAT® formwork tubes that were used to construct the customized support columns for the building’s “floating” roof.

Another innovation from H-BAU used in this project is the RAPIDOBAT® Cretcon HD formwork tube. With its activated hydrogel-formwork-skin, it absorbs excess liquid from the concrete. The result is a non-porous, smooth exposed concrete surface of unprecedented quality.

The formwork tube forms very smooth concrete surfaces. By employing a special lining, the concrete column meets the highest demands of formwork skin class SHK3 and texture class T3. Continue reading

H-Bau Rapidobat – Disposable formwork for columns

The diversity of column diameters and heights specified often pose an availability challenge for traditional formwork systems (with potentially high cost and long lead-times).

Also, the turnaround time for site re-used formwork can adversely impact on pour programmes.

Rapidobat in installation

The H-Bau Rapidobat system solves these dilemmas and has been chosen for decades as the high quality and cost-efficient alternative. Continue reading
