Overview JORDAHL® Cast in Toothed Anchor Channels JXA W
JORDAHL® hot rolled toothed cast in anchor channels JXA W are cast into the surface of concrete structures, to provide easily adjustable connections. The teeth on the inner surface of the channel's lips interlock with teeth on the connecting T bolts, to provide a secure mechanical interface for the resistance of longitudinal shear loads.
The toothed lip feature enables these cast in channnel fixings to support high gravity loads for concrete connection applications where height adjustment is important. Toothed anchor channels JXA W also offer high resistance to tension and transverse shear loads. This ability to support loads in all directions, while also providing positional adjustment, makes anchor channels JXA W ideal for the transfer of loads that might be acting in two or three planes concurrently, such as wind loads or seismic/explosive events.
JORDAHL® hot rolled toothed cast in anchor channels JXA W are evaluated in UK Technical Assessment UKTA-0836-22/6149 and European Technical Assessment ETA/09-0338. They are are manufacured and supplied under an ISO 9001:2015 quality assurance programme.
To assist designers with JXA product selection and load distribution design, JORDAHL® EXPERT design software for anchor channels is available from the downloads section of this product page. This aclaimed design software is free to download and easy to use.
Typical applications for these cast in channlel fixings include concrete connections for brickwork support angles; concrete connections for structural and architectural steelwork; connections for heavy industrial services; and curtain wall facade connections.
Available toothed profile sizes are as follows:
JXA W 64/44 Toothed Anchor Channel
JXA W 53/34 Toothed Anchor Channel
JXA W 38/23 Toothed Anchor Channel
JXA W 29/20 Toothed Anchor Channel
Curved anchor channels for tunnel applications.
Anchor channels spaced and pre-positioned in pairs,
JORDAHL® toothed anchor channels in the JXA-PC version are supplied with long and large headed anchors. The special anchors used on the JXA-PC cast in channel range enable the safe transfer of loads into very heavily cracked concrete with wide fisions. This version is typically used for safety relevant stuctures such as power stations, government buildings or military installations where the stuctures are designed to resist extreme destructive events.resulting from explosions.
Available in hot-dip galvanised steel or stainless steel (A4) in lengths up to 6 metres. Channel profiles are filled with polyethylene (PE) or polystyrene (PS) to prevent concrete ingress when cast into concrete.
To provide the widest selection of load performance a range of 4 cast in channel profiles are available in lengths ranging from 150mm to 6 metres. Design resistance of up to 37.8 kN per connection is available. Standard T-bolt diameters range from M10 to M24.
